A couple was picked up Monday night after police located a grow-op in the basement of a West Trail home.

“An adult couple were arrested on the scene without incident,” said Trail RCMP Cpl. Darryl Orr in a news release. “Twenty-three marijuana plants were located during the search of the residence, along with a quantity of marijuana bud.”

Charges of production and possession of marijuana are being recommended by the Trail Crime Reduction Unit, which continues to focus on the eradication of marijuana grow-ops in Trail.

The couple was released with a promise to appear in Rossland court in March.
