Fire season is on the way, so prepare your homes, neighbourhood, and community by attending Rossland’s FireSmart Forum.

FireSmart coordinator and wildfire mitigation specialist Don Mortimer will lead the FireSmart Forum at the Rossland Miner’s Hall on Monday, May 13.

After recognizing Wildfire Community Preparedness Day and Wildfire Clean Up Day on April, 27, Mortimer will help residents assess their homes’ wildfire risks, reduce fire hazards, and answer any questions.

“We are inviting the town so we’ll see how many people can come this year,” said Mortimer. “We had 60 people last year in 2023, food is served … So go online and register, it’s free but we do want to know how many people are coming so we don’t run out of pizza.”

Residents are asked to register at www.eventbrite.com/e/rossland-firesmart-forum-tickets-879649795217?

The FireSmart Forum goes from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Monday at the Miner’s Hall.
