Trail Flying Club: an airport fixture since 1949

Trail Flying Club elects new executive at annual general meeting

Submitted by Trail Flying Club

The Trail Flying Club elected a new executive during its Annual General Meeting held earlier this month.

The new executive is: President Pat Farnham; Vice President Kevin DeBiasio; Secretary Owen Morris; and Treasurer Carole Tanguay.

The Trail Flying Club has been a fixture at the Trail airport since 1949.

Currently the club owns a Cessna 172 aircraft that the members of the club share.

The club also owns a hangar at the airport and a club house, which most people in the Trail area will remember as the old terminal building.

Over the years the club has hosted airshows, fly-ins, breakfasts and even the Governor General’s Air Rally.

Club members have also given air cadets and other youth groups from Trail, Castlegar and Nelson a flying experience.

Anyone with an interest in aviation can join the Trail Flying Club and members, with at least a private pilot’s licence, can fly the club’s aircraft.

The club has regular meetings at 730 p.m. on the second Thursday of every month, in the club house at the Trail airport.
