The Trail and Greater District RCMP is warning citizens about fraudulent calls.
On Wednesday, the local detachment responded to a complaint involving a Trail resident who received an early morning phone call from a man claiming to represent the “Better Business Chief Executive Office Anti Fraud Division of Canada”.
The male caller requested banking and credit card information from the resident, which wasn’t provided. The Trail resident hung up on the male caller and then contacted police.
The police want to remind the public that very few if any legitimate agencies will request personal banking and credit card information, and that this information should not be provided.
