A Trail resident who was struck by a car at an East Trail crosswalk has succumbed to her injuries and passed away Monday.
Carla Vivian Evans, 68, was one of two people struck by a vehicle in a marked crosswalk at Robertson Street on Dec. 9 around 7 p.m.
The crash is being investigated by the West Kootenay Traffic Services, which said in a press release that alcohol, distracted driving and speed were not factors.
The investigation is continuing.
According to police, the second victim remains in the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital and is recovering from internal injuries.
