She will be in Fort McMurray Wednesday to help residents turn the page on a devastating wildfire — but admits some images will stick with her for a long time. Like scenes of families in trucks and cars trying to flee the fire at a snail's pace alongside curtains of flame below a sky literally raining fire.
And the day the wildfire literally chased Notley around the region.
And the day she toured destroyed neighourhoods reduced to grey fields of soot and ash and got a firsthand look at what a fire does when it's allowed to keep burning until there's nothing left to burn. It's the little things that jump out.
