It is with deep regret that we advise of the passing of Albert Volpatti on October 18, 2023, at the age of 82 years after a lengthy challenging illness. Albert was born in Trail, B.C. on September 23, 1941, to Giacomo and Maria Volpatti.
Albert will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Kathy, his daughter, Tanya Ramsey (Ron) and his two grandsons: Matthew (Krista) and Michael.
Albert's journey began as a young businessman in Trail in the hospitality field. Early on he migrated to the Kaslo/Lardeau area where he, Kathy, and partners owned and later operated a large sawmill for Japanese interests. Very community-minded, Albert fully participated in the Lardeau water system, the Kaslo and Balfour golf courses, and led a number of charity fund raisers and causes. He was a great host and developed many friendships in the Kootenay Valley and maintained childhood friendships from Trail. Albert will be missed by many.
