It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear, sweet mother, Beverly Ann on October 29th, 2011 in Duncan, B.C. Mom was born on August 6th, 1933 in Trail, B.C. to proud parents, Ralph and Eileen Bartlett. Although Mom was an only child, in 1942 a very special friend came into her life and “Auntie Jean” has remained a true and loyal friend and a very important part of our family.

A move to Penticton for the Bartlett family in 1947 and graduation from Penticton High in 1951; brought Mom to a job with the Provincial Government. This is where she met the love of her life, Alec Scott. They were married in 1954; then Dad was transferred to Revelstoke. In 1956, daughter Heather was born and Nancy in 1957. The next transfer was to Cranbrook for a short time; then a requested transfer brought them to Duncan where son, David was born in 1959. While Dad settled in as Deputy Government Agent, Mom stayed at home raising three small children. Once we were all school age, Mom returned to work, first at the Voter’s Registration Office in the old Court House, then H.W. Dickie Insurance and finally as secretary to Judge Lance Heard at the new Duncan Law Courts.

In 1979 when Dad passed away, Mom continued working until her retirement in 1987. She enjoyed cruises, trips south in her motorhome, knitting afghan blankets for every member of her family and baking for every special occasion.

In later years, Mom suffered with the pain of rheumatoid arthritis and more recently, Parkinson’s disease. She spent the last five months living under the exceptional care at Cerwydden Care facility.

Bev is survived by her loving and caring children, Heather (Martin) Cameron, Nancy Reeve and David (Sharon) Scott. Also by her adoring and much loved grand children, Scott and Tracy Cameron, Stacey and Kaylea Reeve, Adam, Aaron (Lucy) and Brandon Scott and newest addition to the family, great-grandson, Theo Scott (whom GG loved to hold). And we couldn’t forget her beloved dog, Buffy.

Beverly was an honorable woman with a caring heart who would never complain and all her family and friends will miss her. We are at peace knowing she and our Dad are together again.

A Celebration of Mom’s life was held on Saturday, November 5th, 2011 at Sands Funeral Chapel in Duncan.
