Long-time resident Helen Borsato passed away suddenly in her home in Trail, B.C. on June 14th, 2012. Helen was born in Princeton, B.C. on February 8, 1932 and came to Trail when she married her husband Squeaks (Giovanni).

She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Helen was kind and would give the shirt off her back to help her family and friends. Helen lived in Princeton until she married her Squeaks and moved to Trail, B.C

She attended the Princeton school until grade 11. She was a member of the Princeton Girls Bugle Band.

Her hobbies are knitting, sewing, cooking, baking, painting, crocheting and needlework, she also loved to travel. She enjoys watching ice skating and a good movie. She enjoyed many years at Christina Lake.

Over the years she worked at a number of jobs, such as 7-Up plant, Crystal Laundry, Hospital Laundry and as a janitor for the school district.

She has traveled to Mexico, Jamaica, Disney World in Florida (twice), Nashville, Graceland, Dollywood, Tennessee. She had 2 wonderful trips to Chicago, then Florida with her husband, Squeaks.

Helen is predeceased by her husband Squeaks, both her parents, Dana & Peter Popovich, brothers Bud and Peter, and sisters Toots and Mary, son-in-law, Roger Turner.

She is survived by her two loving daughters and their families; Dana & Russell Roberts, Mernie & Toni, Denise Turner, Richard & Devon, one sister Anne Thomas, sister- in-law Sadie Conrad, sister- in-law Mary Caputo, Bea Borsato, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A family and friends get together will be held on Friday, June 22, 2012 at 1 pm at the Warfield Hall, 555 Schofield Hwy, Warfield, BC. Cremation is to take place. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
