Catharina Orlowski, of Trail, passed away peacefully on June 23, 2020 at Columbia View Lodge at the age of 83.
Catharina was predeceased by her parents Adrian and Elizabeth Konings, her husband Paul in 2004 and her brothers Hans and Bert. Born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands in 1937, Catharina moved with her family to Canada in 1957 eventually settling in Trail with her husband Paul where she raised her children and made many close friends.
She is survived by her children Gerry and Melinda, her sisters Lilybeth (Wayne), Marian (Herb), Rosalie (Harvey) and her brother Ted (Lynn).
Catharina was truly a special person among us and will be remembered for her kindness, generosity and especially her humour. She was a wonderful mother, she was beloved by her family and she had a way of always making her friends feel welcome, comfortable and at ease. She will be greatly missed.
The family would especially like to thank the staff and volunteers of Columbia View Lodge for her excellent care in the last years of her life.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
