October 22, 1941 - October 2, 2023

In Loving Memory ~

It is with heavy hearts that we must announce the peaceful passing of our dear mother, Catherine Faulkner (nee Pighin), on October 2, 2023, surrounded by family.

Cathy was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, gramma, great-gramma, GG, sister, sister-in-law, auntie, cousin, and friend.

She leaves behind 4 grown children and their spouses, a brother and his wife, adored grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many, many friends. Cathy is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, her mother and father, and her grandson.

Born on October 22, 1941, Mom grew up in Rossland, surrounded by relatives, until she struck out on her own and moved to Penticton shortly after high school. There, she met her lifelong partner, Jim. After Jim and Cathy were married in Oct 1960, they moved a number of times before settling in Mom's hometown of Rossland. Golfing, curling, camping, family trips, and friends kept them busy in the Kootenays before retiring and travelling with a home base at Holiday Park in Winfield. Mom loved sharing her crafting knowledge with her loved ones and at the craft shop. She was always active and involved at the park and thought of her friends and neighbours as her extended family.

Since Dad's passing in 2021, we have watched Mom embrace her independence, but always knew her heart was broken. Be at peace, Mom; you are together again. We will miss you.

As per Cathy's request, there will not be a formal service.

Happy Hour will be announced in the spring of 2024.
