McLEAN – Catherine Monica (Mona) of Trail, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Monday, October 24, 2011, in Trail.
Mona was born on January 5, 1923 in Glasgow, Scotland, and at a young age moved with her family to Canada, growing up in the Trail/Rossland area. After her marriage to John Kenneth McLean of Rossland, the couple moved to Trail where they raised their family. Mona worked for the Bank of Montreal in various branches in the region, retiring in 1988. Her life’s interests included her family, friends, gardening, reading, and music.
Mona was predeceased by her husband, Ken; her siblings James, Charles, and Cecelia; nephews Russell and Frank; and, niece, Marjorie. She is lovingly remembered by her daughter, Dawn; sons, Tom (Aileen), Ken (Deborah), and Joe; grandchildren, Monica, Graham (Lisa), Christy (Jeremiah), Aaron, and Matthew; great granddaughter, Lillian; sister, Vera Robinson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Vigil service will be held at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Thursday, October 27, 2011 at 7:00 pm. Father Matthieu Gombo Yange OfmCap will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Friday October 28, 2011 at 11:00 am, with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery.
