After celebrating his wife's 95th birthday on the morning March 24, 2024, Charlie passed away peacefully later in the day at Columbia View Lodge. Dorothy and Charlie were married on March 12, 1951. They were married for almost 73 years.
Charlie was born to Antoinette (Tony) and Francesco (Frank) Lavorato in Rossland, BC. He grew up there and came to love horses. He was a member of the Horsemen's Society enjoying many horseback rides throughout the years. People would see him going up the hill from Warfield to help care for the horses stabled further up the hill.
He worked for over 40 years as a pipefitter at Cominco Ltd. He drove bus for the Warfield Co-op to and from Cominco for many years.
He always had the most beautiful flower and vegetable gardens, and they were his pride and joy.
He was predeceased by his parents Frank and Tony, his brother Lefty (Irvine) and his sister Doris "Kay" Schwab.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a big thank you to Dr. Benzer and all of the staff at Columbia View Lodge for their kindness, caring and understanding not only for Charlie and Dorothy but all of the residents at Columbia View Lodge.

Cremation has taken place and as per his wishes, there will not be a funeral. Interment will take place at a later date. Andreas Schmitz of Clark's Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
