In Loving Memory ~

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Charlotte. Born in Sydney, N.S., Charlotte was married at the age of 20 to the love of her life, Victor. Sadly, she was widowed at the age of 23, and left to raise two daughters on her own, which she did with tremendous courage and determination.

Charlotte started her career as a secretary at the Gaum Clinic in Sydney, where she quickly rose to the position of Office Manager. After 20 years she decided to retire to pursue volunteer interests. One such position at the Red Cross led to a new job offer, where she was again promoted to Office Manager.

Charlotte later moved to Rossland, then Trail, to be closer to her grandchildren. For the next 22 years, she helped to launch the family business, and spent as much time as possible with the grandchildren in B.C.

Charlotte loved to paint, read, and spend time at the lake with the family. She also volunteered for many local causes. She was funny, kind, and deeply caring of everyone she met. Most of all she loved her family with all her heart and was greatly loved in return.

Her love was dependable, unfailing, and the cornerstone of our lives.

Charlotte is survived by daughters Shirley (Charles Molchan), Carol (Stephen Hill), grandchildren Jack and Alex Petley-Jones and Molly and Greg Hill; great-grandchildren Ava and Jack; sister Sheila MacPherson; and numerous nieces, nephews and their children.

She is predeceased by husband Victor; parents, George and Lexina Goodman; three brothers, and five sisters.

The family is grateful for the kind and loving care Charlotte received from all the staff at Talarico Place.

There will be a celebration of Charlotte's life in Sydney, Nova Scotia at a future date. As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in honour of Charlotte to the Red Cross.
