Darren Ortwein, 43, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2013 around childhood friends and his family.
Darren was born in Trail, BC to Solveig and Emerald Ortwein, and he spent most of his life in his beloved hometown Rossland, BC.
Darren was a kind and generous outdoorsman who loved skiing, hiking, his family, friends, and his children.
Darren was predeceased by his mother, Solveig; his father, Emerald; his step father Art; and his brother, Rod. He was survived by his children Alex and Kala, and his brothers Glenn, Brian, Ken, and Wayne.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the community of Rossland, particularly those who treated Darren with the same kindness that filled his own heart. We will always remember your compassion.
A memorial for Darren will take place on his birthday in May for his family and close friends.
