October 8, 1957 - July 12, 2021
Debbie was born on October 8, 1957, in Calgary, Alberta and passed away with family by her side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer on July 12, 2021, in Trail, BC.
She was predeceased by her son Jason in 2020 and her mom Ruby Madsen in 1999.
Debbie is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Greg Stein, her son Colin (Shawna) Stein, her father Leo Madsen, her father-in-law Ray Stein, her sisters Terry (Johnny) Forlin, Cathy Madsen and Karen (Roger) Ridge, her brother Dan (Connie) Madsen, brother-in-law Gary (Tonya) Stein as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Debbie was an avid bowler and quilter for many years, loving everything involved such as tournaments in Kelowna with her bowling teams and quilting retreats both near and far. She took charge of local retreats and the 'Quilt til you Wilt' held at the Montrose Hall.
Whenever anyone needed help with anything she was always the first to volunteer. When her boys were small she was known as a second mom to all the children she did daycare for. Doing daycare was a highlight of her life. She was an inspiration to all who knew her, and she was loved by many.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 21 at 10:00 am at the Fruitvale Memorial Centre. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with the arrangements.
