Glover, Dorothy — It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Glover (Wilkinson) on August 17th, 2011 at Victoria General Hospital.
Dorothy was born on February 16th, 1920 in Lancashire, England. Her family immigrated to Canada and settled in Trail, B.C. when Dorothy was a young child.
Dorothy was predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Wilkinson, her sister Kathleen Ellis and her brother Lloyd Wilkinson. Also predeceasing Dorothy was her father and mother-in-law Francis and Kitty Glover, brothers-in-law Geoff Glover, Jim Watson, Dennis Ashby and Gordon Ellis.
Dorothy is survived by the love of her life and soulmate Marvin. On June 6th, 2011 they celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary and had known one another for 75 years. Dorothy is also survived by her son Gary (Frances), daughter Gail Kramer (Larry), Grandchildren Robin (Bernadette), Geoff Kramer (Chelsea), Allison Kramer (Trevor Lees), Stephanie Sturgis (Jason).
One of Dorothy’s greatest joys was the birth of her two great granddaughters in December 2010 and February 2011, Gwyneth and Olivia.
Dorothy is also survived by sisters-in-law Kathleen Watson, Dorothy Ashby and Heather Wilkinson and many nieces and nephews.
There will be no service by request. The family has requested in lieu of flowers donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
