Eric Leslie Mawer passed away peacefully at the age of 85, on April 14, 2020 due to A.G.E. He was born September 5, 1934 in Nelson, B.C., but lived his entire life on his much beloved farm, Water Wheel Ranch in Fruitvale, B.C. He married his life partner Sharon Grace Mawer (nee DeBruyn) on September 6, 1957.
Eric's first paid job was on the Waneta Dam Project. He then moved to Cominco to begin his apprenticeship program as a Mechanical Technician. During his 38 years he spent the majority of his time working in Research and Development. He loved this work and was credited with inventing processes on 6 patents owned by Cominco.
Eric enjoyed photography but his most loved passion was snowmobiling. In later years Eric and Sharon travelled and explored many places together.
Eric is survived by his wife Sharon, his children; Louise Mawer (Kevin DeBruyn) Millgrove, ON; Linda (Ray) Wegrzynowski Calgary, AB; Dawn Hedley (deceased); Leslie Mawer Rossland, BC; 6 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
