It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loved husband, father and Nonno, Franco. He was born on Aug 11, 1929 in Arzene, Pordenone, Italy and came to rest peacefully at KBRH on May 6, 2011 after a brief hospital stay.

Franco grew up in "The Old Country" and brought his musical talents to Canada in 1950 and played the saxophone in his band "The Tune Toppers" at countless weddings and banquets. He also spent hours and hours in the greenhouse with his expertise and love of gardening both flowers and vegetables and in the basement making wine. Franco enjoyed sharing the fruits of his labour with friends and family playing cards or bocce. After retiring from Cominco in 1986, Franco and Delina spent their early mornings on the tee as members of the Salmo Golf Club. He was a longtime member of the Eagles and served on the executive as bar supervisor for many years. Franco liked to read and do puzzles sent to him from family in Italy and watched many different sports on TV.

Franco will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years Delina and his children Louisa (Gerry) Vachon, Rick (Mary), Dina (Ray) Green, Bill (Ellen) and Jim (Lea). Franco's grandchildren Bryan and Kristyne, Mark and Tawna, Tyler and Carleigh and Jake and Emily all had a special place in his heart and brought much joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister Luigina and several nieces and nephews in both Canada and Italy. Franco was predeceased by his parents and brother Sergio.

We would like to thank the nurses and staff in ICU, Emerg, and Medical at KBRH for the wonderful care Franco received. A special thanks to Dr. Hii for all his care & assistance over the years.

The family will have a private service at a later date. Bill Clark with Personal Alternative Funeral Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations can be made in Franco's name to the MS Society of Canada at Box 202 Balfour, BC V0G 1C0
