It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Glen Allan Saby, of Rossland, B.C., on July 25, 2013, at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.

Born September 16, 1927 in Bawlf, Alberta to Emil Adolf and Gilma Saby, Glen was the youngest of six children. He received his education in the Bawlf area. In 1948, he met the love of his life, Agnes (nee Gruntman), in Camrose, Alberta and on September 3, 1949 they were married. Dad took various jobs in Alberta and B.C. and in late 1950, he moved his family to Rossland where dad took employment at Cominco, eventually becoming a foreman in the indium plant Glen was a very kind and loving husband, father and Opa. He loved working in his garden and as a young man coached hockey and played softball in the Rossland men's league. He was a jack-of-all-trades and built a house for his family in Rossland.

Glen is survived by his sister Viola McLeod, his two children Anita (Richard) Salsiccioli and Glendine (Norman) Worsfold; son-in-law Mike Barone; his grandchildren Renee, Noel, Christa, Shawn, Alison, Rebecca and Alana; and his great­ grandchildren Alex, Chloe and Sophie. Glen is predeceased by his loving wife Agnes; his daughter Gail Barone; his brother Hurley Saby; and his sisters Bernice Wagner, Adelian Aker and Marjorie Saby.

A graveside service will be held at Mountain View Cemetery on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10:00 am with Reverend Keith Simmonds, Celebrant. Everyone is welcome to attend. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.

As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada at Box 202, Balfour, BC, V0G 1C0 or the Heart and Stroke Foundation at 4 - 1551 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, British Columbia V1Y 9M9 would be appreciated by the family.
