Glenda Sutherland, the fourth daughter of Marguerita and Glen Cumming was born in Trail in 1934. Her sisters were Betty Nicholson, Audrey Krauss and Doreen Barlow. Glenda worked at the Trail Hospital and Cominco, before raising her family in Trail. Glenda was the cherished wife of Charles for 57 years; loving mother of Grant (Allison) Sutherland and their son, Alex; Scott (Susan) Sutherland and their children Brodie, Charlie and Erin; Jillian (Michael) Beland and their children Megan and Laura, Carol (Jeff) Townsend and their children Stephanie and Kirstin. The family enjoyed their summer cottage at Queen’s Bay at Kootenay Lake and their winter home in Tuscon, Arizona. Glenda will be greatly missed by her family and many friends. The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at KBRH for their care and support during the last 4 years.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Anglican Church – 1347 Pine Avenue, Trail on Saturday, December 29th, 2012 at 11:00 am with Canon Neil Elliot, Celebrant. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with the arrangements.
