It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved father and husband Harold Ronald Jones. Harold passed away peacefully at Columbia View Lodge on August 15, 2020 with family at his bedside.
Harold is survived by his loving wife Evelyn Jones and children: Nadine (Peter) Korby of Victoria, BC, David (Della) Jones of Airdrie, AB, Laura (Steve) Hwalstad of Casino, BC, Gord Klit (Michele Cherot) of Trail, BC, Rob Klit of Trail, BC, Cathy (John) Borsato of Trail, BC, Karen (Gerald) Berg of Airdrie, AB, and Harold's sister, Evelyn (Don) Black of Edmonton, AB. Harold was a grandfather to 20 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Hazel Jones of Grand Forks, BC.
Harold was born May 2, 1933 in Grand Forks, BC and moved to Trail in 1943 at the age of 10. He was employed at Celgar Pulp and Paper and retired in January 1994.
He was a fun-loving man who loved to share old stories. Harold was a long-time member of the Eagles Club in Trail and his hobbies included fishing, camping, curling, travelling and cooking, often writing out his own recipes and creating his personal cookbooks. Being with family was his greatest enjoyment.
There will be no Funeral Service and cremation has taken place. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
He will be sadly missed by family and friends. We would also like to express a thank you to Columbia View Lodge for Harold's care and making his stay there comfortable.
