It is with great sadness that her family announces the passing of Hilary, beloved wife of Dan, much loved mother of Sarah (Derek), Rachel (Ben) and John (Rachel), loving Nana to Julia, Braeden and Kurtis; daughter of Eva (Ken) Anderson, and sister to Mick (Dot), Peter, Phil (Christine) and Alison (Colin) in England. Hilary passed away peacefully with her family at her side on the 9th of May, at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital in Trail. Hilary was a well respected dietician within the Trail and Rossland hospitals and care facilities who helped and counseled many members of the community. Hilary loved gardening, travelling and spending time with her grandchildren. Hilary was a supportive partner in her husband’s gold exploration and mining endeavours and enjoyed the community spirit of Rossland, especially the Golden City Days. The family wishes to express their sincere thanks to the medical staff at the Hospital for their expert care and kindness, and to the many friends and neighbours for their support and generosity during Hilary’s illness. At her request and in lieu of flowers, donations in Hilary’s memory may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Society of Canada (www.pancreaticcancercanada.ca).
A celebration of Hilary's life will be held at the family home at 1619 Spokane Street, Rossland, on Wednesday, May 16th from 3:00 - 6:00pm. This event is open to all who knew and loved her.
She is like an everlasting blossom, never to fade in our hearts.
