July 4, 1928 - March 5, 2021
It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of our dear mother Irene Elizabeth Ashby (nee Leduc). Born in Trail, BC July 4, 1928 entered eternal peace after a lengthy illness on March 5, 2021.
Mom was predeceased by her husband Wilfrid on April 10, 2011. She is survived by her five daughters, Dianna (Glenn), Lynn, Darcy (Mike), Leslie (Pierino) and Christine (Mike).
Grandchildren fondly remembering Grandma are: Robert Ashby, Korin Harmsma (Will), James Castle (Carmen), Brian Castle (Kayla), Michelle Taylor (David), Nikki Dyck (Josh), Michael Vlanich (Tenille), Daniel Vlanich (Taylor), Pamela Bristow (Matt), Melissa Schaffer (Brad), Karsten Sian (Sarah), Ariana Sian (Taylor). Grandma is loved by Justin, Catherine, Nathan, Nicolas, Matthew, Hudson, Emmit, Drevon, Griffin, Cameron, Madison, Gianna and Zakk.
She will be dearly missed by her baby sister Yvonne Cowan and brother, Leonard (Judy) Leduc as well as many nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Lori Verigin for your many years of mom's care, Debbie Sinclair and her Home Support staff for the amazing support and compassion, CVL Bridges for never forgetting about our seniors during this pandemic, Dr. S. White and second floor nursing staff of KBRH, Trail Hospice for all the phone support and Dr. Scott Emery a special person in mom's life.
Cremation has taken place. There will be a private family celebration of life at a later date. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
