FREW, John (Jack), of Trail, BC, passed away peacefully April 22, 2012, blessed with 81 years of life. Jack was born in Trail February 15, 1931.

Jack is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Florence, son Doug (Sonia) of Burnaby, BC, daughter Sandra Foxcroft (Todd) of Langley, BC and his three grandchildren, Aiden, Matthew and Sydney. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Lily Frew of Trail, BC and his sister Grace Blewett of Kelowna, BC.

Jack was fiercely proud of the city of Trail and loved living here. He worked at Cominco for just shy of 40 years until he retired in 1990. He was an avid Trail Smoke Eaters fan and season ticket holder for many years. He was a sports-minded individual who over the years enjoyed curling, golf and many happy days fishing at Kootenay Lake. He loved to travel and some of his fondest memories were spent near the ocean. Jack was a humble, loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He will always be remembered by those of us who knew him and loved him.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Wilson and staff, Dr. Zhang and to the nurses and staff of the Renal Unit at Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Renal Unit of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital at 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC V1R 4M1.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 11:00 am at the Trail United Church. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
