April 12, 1933 - January 18, 2019
Mr. Ken Dougan passed away unexpectedly on January 18, 2019 surrounded by family. Ken was born in Rossland on April 12, 1933 and was the sixth son of eight boys.
Ken's life was very active, and he kept busy. He married Ruth and they had many wonderful years together in Rossland and Grand Forks until her passing in 2017. Ken loved to garden, do taxidermy work and had many years with his racing pigeons. He loved all animals. Ken's working life had him at Cominco for 35 years. He was a journeyman painter and a very good one at that.
Ken was a man of strong faith, a kind person and a true gentleman. In the last 4 years, Ken moved back to Trail from Grand Forks and made Chateau Manor his home. Thank you to all who work there.
Ken was predeceased by his wife Ruth, his mother Margaret, his father Joseph, his brothers; Paddy, Charles, John, Joe, Brian, Terry and Lawrence as well as his sister-in-law Arvena. He is survived by his nieces Lori (Tom) Drake and Colleen (John) Robinson, great-nieces and nephews; Shane, Julie, Connor, Chelsea, Travis, Marley, Caitlin and Riley, his son-in-law Steve (Tami) Como, his grandchildren; Danielle (David), Nathan, Natalie, David and Johnny as well as Ruth's children Linda and Bill Smith.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at 11:00 am at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.
