In Loving Memory ~
Kory McKim passed away June 28, 2023. Kory was born April 3, 1936 at Rock Creek, B.C. Olive Lorraine Eek (she changed her name to Kory Ladner in the 1960's).
Kory is predeceased by her husband of 35 years, Fred McKim, and many of her family, parents Charles and Kathleen Eek, siblings Dora (Johnson), John Eek, Arthur Eek, Margaret (Scott), and Carol (Brooks).
She lived a full life as a majorette, basketball player, ski racer, ski patrol, artist, student and gardener. Kory was a school teacher; had three degrees and became an accomplished artist.
Kory is survived by Danne McKim (Puff), Lennie McKim, Jay McKimm (Eva) and grandchildren Micah, Jack and Ira McKimm; Kate McKim and great-grand children Liam and Jace as well as her sister Ruth (Grubisic) and many, many nephews and nieces.
Kory was instrumental encouraging Jay's 3 boys to draw and paint, as well as other kids on Willow Point beach; always her sketch pad close by. Her hand painted Christmas cards, usually with a child or two, and pet, were eagerly anticipated.
She would astound most beach users by swimming early in the year and then late when most people had retired to their woolies; hearty Swedish genes. Early morning commuters who saw her every morning walking, solo or with her early risers group of Gals, would wave and she would return the wave along with a smile too; true to her adventurous spirit, she loved to walk along the tops of guardrails; "Why not?", and "Who cares", a couple of her often employed phrases.
Smile too, with us as we remember Kory.
