July 30, 1974 - September 10, 2020
We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of Kristine Taggart on September 10, 2020. Kristine was born on July 30, 1974 at the Nelson Hospital. She grew up in Rossland B.C., later settling in Sylvan Lake, Alberta earlier this year where she started her dream job as the National Staff Representative for the C.U.P.E. local.
She is survived by her partner Brad, daughters Michaely (Danny) and Brooklyn, her step-son Braden, her aunts and uncles, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Her recent move to Sylvan Lake, alongside her partner Brad, had her out and enjoying life doing all her favorite things. Spending the majority of her time being out on the boat soaking up the sunshine and enjoying drinks while watching Brad emptying the lake of all the "Walters". This was where she was meant to live her last loving days.
This spring had brought an unexpected time where both her girls got to be with her and spend several months with Kristine, Brad and Braden, time now cherished by all of them (even though sometimes they got on each other's nerves).
Kristine was working in the C.U.P.E. offices in Red Deer at the time as a National Staff Representative. She fought hard for people she didn't even know, trying to make their lives as comfortable as she could make them. She was a loving and caring mother, partner, friend, niece, and auntie to all.
Kristine was a strong supporter of unions, equality of all human beings, giving everyone a fighting chance and most of all she was the last to ever judge one another.
We will remember her for her contagious smile, heart of gold, how proud she was of her daughters, the memories that will have us laughing until we cry, and how much she loved using a lot more garlic than what the recipe suggests.
