MONALDI: Laura Caroline, of Trail, passed away peacefully on August 18, 2011 at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital. Laura was born on October 20, 1927 in Trail, BC.

Laura was a special woman to her family whom she loved with all her heart. She enjoyed cooking, gardening (especially her corn on the cob), needlework and laughing with her family and friends. She was lovingly called the “energetic bunny” because she could keep busy all day.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years Joe Monaldi, daughters Laurel (Russ) Babcock and Donna (Jim) Stewart, grandsons Chris (Kyla) Babcock, Court (girlfriend Cristina) Babcock, Jamie (Rhonda) Stewart, granddaughter Vicki (Bruce) Stewart, great-grandchildren Alan, Izzy, and Joey Babcock, Michael, Sara, Timothy, Courtenay, Emma and Caitlyn Stewart. Brothers Len (Donna) and Dan (Donna) Guglielmin, brothers-in-law Mike Gorick, Bob Colistro, sisters-in-law Eda Anselmo, Jean (Ralph) Redding and many nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her parents Antonio and Angelina Guglielmin, brothers Ben and Alfie Guglielmin, sister Lily Gorick, grandson Tony Stewart and father and mother-in-law Alfonso and Fernanda Monaldi.

Her stay at the Rosewood Village brought smiles to everyone, especially when she broke into song. Special thanks to all of Mom’s adopted family at Rosewood for their care and love for the last 5 years and also to Dr. Kirby and the nurses on the third floor for their care and concern for Laura in her final days.

A Service of Remembrance will be held at the Rosewood Village at 8125 DeVito Drive, on Thursday, August 25 at 10:00 am with Father Matthieu Gombo Yange OfmCap officiating. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
