ROURKE, Leslie David, passed away peacefully at home on March 7, 2011.

Les was born on July 28, 1951 in Brandon Manitoba to Howard and Marguerite Rourke (both deceased) and will be sadly missed by Judy, his loving wife and constant companion of 34 years, daughter Twilla, son Jason, sister Mary (Jim) Sparrow, brother

Gordon (Sherry), brothers-in-law Don, Dave (Jayne), as well as several other extended family members, friends, associates and his faithful dog, Benton.

He had many various hobbies and loved a good adventure in the form of camping, gardening, riding around in his “boog-a-loo”, picking huckleberries, photography- taking many, many pictures of which he was never in any, hunting, fishing, and collecting antiques. He liked to keep busy by doing carpentry- recently finishing a gazebo- a project he always wanted to attempt, but his biggest love was crabbing in Port Angeles.

Les was a member of the Legion for 23 years serving on the Entertainment Committee as well as a year as Vice President.

He worked at Cominco for 11 years and Big O Tire for 13 years until he achieved his Journeyman Electrician status in 2004 and was very proud of it. He was a whiz at troubleshooting, liked wiring panels and enjoyed working many different projects both here and out of town.

Les liked to socialize wherever he was with friends old and new, a beer (or two!), a smile and a good bit of kidding and conversation.

A service will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion, branch #11 in Trail on Monday March 14th at 11:00 am. All Legionnaires please attend. Donations in Les’s honour gratefully accepted to a charity of your choice. Bill Clark of Personal Alternative Funeral Services, “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

He is not gone, he’s just away.

Love you Hon….
