January 5, 1947 - October 12, 2019
It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Lillian on October 12, 2019, after a brief illness. She was predeceased by her parents Cesare and Teresa, and her husband Glyn (Taffy).
Lillian was born in Trail BC on January 5, 1947. Lillian and her sister, Doreen grew up together in Warfield and it was there that Lil formed many of her lifelong friendships that continued until her final days. She attended Webster School and graduated from J.L. Crowe in 1966. Lil spent her professional career in the administrative field at both the C.S. Williams Clinic and at Cominco. She married Glyn in 1976 and after their daughter Carolyn was born in 1980, she transitioned to the role of homemaker.
Lil was a very active and social member in the community. She was involved in curling, golf, and bowling leagues, as well as being involved in various volunteer groups throughout her community. After her diagnosis with Parkinson's Disease, she slowed down her activities, but could still be seen attending various teas and other community functions throughout the area. She was an avid reader, an excellent cook, an adventurous traveller, and a pretty average Jeopardy player.
Lil will be remembered for her kindness and easy going personality. Despite the physical challenges she faced, she maintained a positive and cheery outlook and enjoyed being around friends and family whenever she could. Lil is survived by her daughter Carolyn (Adam), sister Doreen (Geoff), sister in law Wendy (Joe), niece Jennifer, nephews Michael (Kim) and Stephen, Uncle Ivo Toffolo, and cousins and friends near and far. She will be deeply missed.
Per Lillian's request, a private service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to the KBRH Health Foundation at www.kbrhhealthfoundation.ca or to a charity of your choice. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements. You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family's register at www.myalternatives.ca.
