It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father after a lengthy and brave battle with cancer. Lloyd is survived by his loving son Glenn; daughter Shelley (Tony) Sandell and granddaughter Emily; brother Larry; many nieces and nephews; and his long-time best friend Mike Smith and his wife Joan (Lorne and Sherri). Dad was predeceased by his parents Earl and Mabel, brother Doug and sister Donna.
Lloyd was born in Trail, BC, grew up in Shavers Bench and then later moved to Genelle, BC where he resided until his passing. In his younger days, Dad loved to go hunting and fishing with his brother Doug, skiing at Red Mountain and spend summers at Christina Lake. He worked at Teck as a Control Operator in the Sulphide Leaching plant until his retirement in 2003. He then enjoyed many quiet summer days with his friends down by the river in Genelle. Dad will be remembered by his friends and family for his big heart and wonderful sense of humor. The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to Dr. Jennifer Cochrane as well as the doctors and nurses at Kelowna General Hospital for their kind care and support. A special thank you to Dad's nurse Lisa who showed him so much compassion.
There will be no service at Dad's request. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Springfield Funeral Home of Kelowna.
