July 28, 1928 - December 4, 2018
It is with great sorrow that we say goodbye to Marie, loving mother, sister and friend.
She was born in Lac La Biche, Alberta July 28th, 1928, just celebrating her 90th birthday on an Alaskan cruise this past summer with family.
Marie is survived by her daughter Paulette; son Wayne (Carol); daughter Julie (Neil); son Kevin (Lynn); daughter Karen (Roger) siblings Gaston Lefort, Carmen Mitchell and Andree (Paul) Galbraith, sister-in-law Eva Lefort and grandchildren Jessica, Melanie, Jim, Richard, Victoria and great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by husband Joseph; daughter Jeannette Mackenzie; parents Servan and Beatrice Lefort; brothers Dorio and Roland; and, sister Lorraine (Bianchi).
Marie was a member of the Catholic Women's League for 41 years. She was also an avid 5 pin bowler with the Glenmerry Bowling league and looked forward to her weekly Tuesday's with her Jets team mates. She loved to travel back to her birth place of Alberta to visit family and friends yearly until recently. Winter time was scrapbooking time and sitting at the kitchen table going through many many family pics and memories.
Heartfelt thanks to the staff of Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital as well the staff at Interior Health community nursing services. As well all her family and loyal friends who went over and above during this last journey.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, December 14, 2018 at 1pm at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Francis dela Cruz, Celebrant. Interment will follow at a later date. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Servicestm has been entrusted with arrangements.
