It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marisa Jimenez, who passed away at the age of 74 on Dec 29th, 2023 in Trail, BC after a long battle with cancer.
Pre deceased by father Giovanni and mother Erminia.
Left to mourn cherished daughter Lourdes and husband Steven, brother Dennis Passerini, cousins Renza and Nigel Brown, Arnold Pertile and Hazel Speers and in-laws Dale and Sue Brochu and many relatives in Canada and Italy.
Marisa was born in Trail on Sept 23rd, 1949. She was a loving mother, sister, cousin, neighbour, and friend to all that knew her.
She was kind, generous, empathetic and a champion for those in need. She pioneered the Christmas Raffle which ran for 19 years for the residents of KBRH Poplar Ridge Pavilion. The raffle helped raise thousands of dollars. Her care and spirit continue to have rippling effects to this day.
These selfless actions were recognized by the community in 2019, when Marisa was awarded the Citizen Of The Year!
While her battle with cancer is over, she was a devoted Catholic and always believed in the power of prayer and faith. Marisa always believed that "If God brings you to it, He will see you through it." This has never been more true for how Marisa celebrated life.
By Marisa's request there will be no service, she did not want anyone fussing over her. Please, in lieu of a celebration the family is asking for you to consider donating to KBRH Poplar Ridge Pavilion, who are accepting memorial donations at this time to help honour what would have been Marisa's 20th year of her Christmas raffle fundraiser.
