KRYSKI (NEE HARDY), MARY (MAE) ISABELLE — It is with great sadness the family and friends of Mae are mourning her sudden passing at home on the morning of August 22, 2013.

Mae is survived by her husband of 62 years Ed, her brother Sidney (Janice), her son Terry (Wendy), her daughter Donna (Tom), her son Kirby (Joanne), and her son Ken (Christine) as well as her grandchildren Terri, Sarah, Karina, Chris, Rebecca, Felicia, and Nicole and her great-grandchildren Justin, Jordan, and Kendra.

Mae was born in Trail, BC on August 6, 1932. Mae was the youngest daughter of Joe and Mary Hardy, went to JL Crowe High School and worked at the BC Telephone Company as a switch board operator. Her mother passed away when Mae was only ten years old and this was devastating for Mae. She saw her father Joe struggle to raise four girls alone and rely on all of them for support. Mae’s father was an absolute pillar of strength in this difficult time and Mae carried and adopted these values to her life. She met the love of her life Ed in 1949 while he was staying next door and worked for Kryski Bros. Ed and Mae got married in 1951 and raised four children together. Mae was a very devoted mother who took great pride in raising her four children with values and kindness. She enjoyed being with the public and worked part time at the Royal Theatre in Trail for numerous years. Her hobbies were looking after her pet cats, sewing, baking, knitting, sketching, and crosswords.

She is predeceased by her parents Joseph and Mary Hardy, her sisters Margaret (Frank)

Elsie (Jimmy) Aidie, and Josephine (John) Riley.

Mae had a strong desire to live life to the fullest and overcame adversity with fight and focus. Mae beat cancer twice, overcame pulmonary edema, kidney failure, and finally succumbed to heart failure.

The family would like to thank Dr. Phillips, Dr. Scotland, and Dr. Brar for their treatment and care. Special thanks to the attending paramedics, RCMP, and Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services for their quick response, help, and kindness.

As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital Health Foundation (Oncology Unit), 1200 Hospital Bench, Trail, BC, V1R 4M1 or online at www.kbrhealthfoundation.ca

A Memorial Service for Mae will be held at the First Presbyterian Church in Trail, BC on Sunday, September 1, 2013 at 2 pm with Reverend Meridyth Robertson, Celebrant. Jordan Wren of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
