Marylin Elaine Frew, (nee Westhaver), has departed Trail to be with her loving husband Gordon (predeceased in 1981). She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on October 20, 2016, after a brief illness. Marylin was a respected teacher, a dedicated community volunteer, a loving family woman, and a treasured friend during her life. She was eighty-five years young, throughout her life she enjoyed participating in many athletic activities and social events. Marylin was predeceased by her parents, Otto and Hazel, and her brothers Milford and Donald. She is survived by her sons, Robert (Stacia), Donald (Linda), and Barry (Shelley) , her daughter, Sue (Geoff), brother Barry (Marina) Westhaver, grandchildren Kristy, Kevin, Gordon, Christopher, Lindsey, Timothy, and Carly, three great-grandsons, sisters-in-law June and Kathy, and numerous nieces and nephews. At Marylin’s request, there will not be a formal service, the family will be celebrating her life at a future date. We thank the medical staff for their care of and compassion for mom during her illness. Donations may be made in Marylin’s honour to the Canadian Red Cross, the BC Cancer Foundation, the Heart And Stroke Foundation or Kootenay Boundary Regional hospital. She has touched our lives immeasurably, and will stay in our hearts eternally.
