March 8, 1953 - February 5, 2022
Michael Showers passed away at the South Health Campus in Calgary, Alberta in the early morning hours of February 5, 2022, at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by his daughter Robyn Buchanan of Nanaimo, BC, her husband David Buchanan, and their children, Ewan, Ben, and Oliver; and his son Andrew Showers of Chestermere, AB, his wife Colette Showers, and their children, Kenzie and Zac. He will also be dearly missed by his sister, Effie Hnidan, his ex-wife, Judy Showers, and his cat, Charlie.
Michael grew up in Calgary, AB, where he met the mother of his children, Judy Bell in 1973. The majority of Michael's adult life was spent in the BC Kootenays, where he raised his children and worked as a salesman and later in IT for the school board in Trail, BC. Michael shared a love of sports with his son, Andrew, and they enjoyed travelling to Seattle to watch the Mariners and Seahawks.
His children, Robyn and Andrew, are planning an online service to remember Michael. His ashes will be scattered at one of his favourite places, Mount Baldy at Shawnigan Lake.
