February 19, 1979 - February 5, 2022
It is with great sadness that the family of Michael Wilson announce his sudden passing on Saturday, February 5, 2022 in New Westminster, BC after a tragic workplace accident.
Mike was born in Trail on February 19, 1979. He graduated from JLCrowe High School in 1997 and went on to study at Selkirk College, University of Alberta and SAIT where he completed his welding apprenticeship. His life journey then took him to northern Alberta where he obtained his red seal welding ticket and spent many years welding in northern Alberta and BC. At his passing, Mike owned and operated a successful landscaping business in Vancouver. Sports played a major role in his younger years and Mike enjoyed many seasons of playing rep hockey and rep soccer. During his life, he helped many people as his compassion for helping others became a big part of his life. He will be remembered as a great friend and truly missed by his wide circle of friends.
Mike is survived by his dad, Mark, his mom, Linda, sister, Andrea and brother, Doug. Also survived by his Nonna Livia LeRose, Gramma Anne Wilson, numerous aunts, uncles and cousins and his nephews, Jake, Connor and Luke. His nephews loved their Uncle Mike and he adored them. Mike was predeceased by his Nonno, Ernest LeRose and Grandpa, Doug Wilson.
A service to celebrate Mike's life will take place later this year. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services™ has been entrusted with arrangements.
As an expression of sympathy, memorial donations in remembrance of Mike may be made to St. Michael's School, Trail at 1329 Fourth Avenue, Trail, BC, V1R 1S3.
Mike's life was taken too quickly. He will always be remembered and we will hold him in our hearts forever.
