It is with great sadness that our family announces the sudden passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great-great grandmother on January 2, 2011.
Phyllis was born on January 19, 1915 in Fernie, BC and subsequently moved to Chemainus then Victoria, and finally to Fruitvale where she resided for 25 years. Her passions were gardening, animals big and small, and feeding all the neighbours’ pets on the porch.
Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Robert (Bob), son Lealand (Bobby), brother Dick French, and grandson Barry Cameron. She is survived by her daughters Arlene (Dick) Cameron and Wendy (Tom) Meakes, grandchildren Debbie (Brian) Ashford, Rick (Angie) Meakes and Tammie (Andre) Gagnon, and great-grandchildren Corrina (Brian), Krista, Tristan, Isabella, Riley, Nicholas, and Sienna, as well as her great-great-grandchildren Brody, Tanner, Brandon, and Ryder.
Phyllis prided herself on being part of five generations. Her joy was all the grandchildren
whom she loved very much. She will be greatly missed by all.
There will be no service at Phyllis’ request. Cremation has taken place. Al Grywacheski of Personal Alternative Funeral Services “Carberry’s Chapel” is entrusted with arrangements.
Thanks to Dr. Libby McCoid for all of her support and kindness. A life that touches the hearts of others goes on forever. Those who so lovingly give of themselves give others such warm memories. You were a very special lady.
