In Loving Memory ~
With great sadness I write about the loss of a father, a brother, a husband and a friend. Raoul Charles Regnault passed away the morning of January 29, 2024 while under care at the Kootenay Boundary Regional Hospital.
Raoul was born in Vancouver B.C on January 10th 1953 to Jaques and Lita Regnault. He was the oldest of three children, having sister Catherine, and brother Scott. Their father worked for the RCAF the family moved frequently living in such places as Saint-Avold France, Montreal Que, North Bay Ont, Chatham N.B, Yorkton Sask and many more.
After secondary school Raoul studied at Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon. And he married Gwendolyn Antifaev on July 9th 1977. Upon completing school, they moved to Trail B.C in 1979 where Raoul accepted a position at the Trail Regional Hospital working as a Lab Technician until his retirement in 2013.
Early in 1980 Raoul and Gwen moved to Fruitvale B.C where they raised two sons Ryan and Hawk.
Raoul enjoyed reading books and learning about other cultures as well as keeping up with new electronic gadgets and technology. He loved to try different ethnic foods and listen to many varied genres of music. His most favourite hobby was photography and he always had a camera on him, sometimes even two!
After retiring, he began travelling to the Ukraine where he made many good friends and memories.
Raoul always wanted to give to people, he thrived on helping others. While living in the Ukraine, learning their language and culture, he started donating to a children's dance school and a foster family. He made a difference in peoples lives and that's how Raoul will be remembered.
