1927-2021 ~ Bill passed away peacefully in Trail, BC on September 2nd, 2021 at age 94 with family by his side.
Predeceased by the love of his life, Joan Denise Hubbard (nee Cruickshank) and by their daughter Janet Elisabeth Hubbard at age 14 months. Bill was also predeceased by his parents Germaine Rosalie Augustine Ghislaine Hubbard (nee Baroness de T'Serclaes) and William Henry Hubbard, as well as his siblings June Rosemary Hubbard (Stevenson) and Noel Kirkpatrick Hubbard.
Bill is survived by his three loving and supportive daughters Gwen Louise Hubbard (Harry Schlough) of California, K. Lynn Hubbard (Peter Santangeli) of California, and Elisabeth (Lis) Semenoff (Alfred) of Warfield, BC, as well as his seven grandchildren, Kate, Will, Grace, Gregory, Christopher, Jessica and Chelsea.
Dad & Mom were both fortunate to retire early and so, had twelve years to indulge their love of travel throughout North America, with many visits to close relatives in Europe. Their freedom was prematurely shortened after they moved from Toronto to Victoria, BC, by Mom's worsening Parkinson's disease, leading to her death in 2013.
They were both involved in numerous community affairs and charities, and were avid collectors of art and antiques. Dad was also a car nut, owning a total of 42 over his lifetime, including a 1949 Bentley, and a flaming red Honda Del Sol.
During his 9 years living at Rose Wood Village, he made many friends among the residents and staff.
Our heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Rosewood whom Dad always spoke of so highly. Special thanks also go to Lori Verigin (NP) for her wonderful care. At Dad's request, there will only be a private family celebration. Andreas Schmitz of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
