Robert Reid "Bob" Evans

October 30, 1951 - May 27, 2019
It is with great sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Bob. After a hard-fought and courageous battle with cancer, Robert "Bob" Reid Evans passed away surrounded by his loving wife and children at the Trail hospital on Monday, May 27, 2019 at 8:15 pm.
Bob was born October 30, 1951 to Dorothy "Dot" and Woodrow "Bob" Evans in Trail BC. He grew up in Sunningdale with his older brother Dale, and his younger sister Melissa.
Together with his first wife, Sheila, he had four beautiful children: Chris, Sarah, Lynncey, and Megan. He later met and married his wife Dee-Ann. He then took on raising her daughter, Levi, as his own, and much later in Bob's life, they were blessed with their son, Gabe. He now has 11 grandchildren, some of whom are the same age as his youngest son. His children and grandchildren have always been his greatest pride and joy.
Bob also prided himself in being a hard worker and a good provider for his family. After working 38 years at Teck Cominco, he joined the CSW Union. Local 1611, were he is still in good standing. He loved the camaraderie of his coworkers.
He also loved golfing, camping, fishing, playing guitar, wood carving, model building, and cooking. His homemade chow mein and lemon meringue pies were famous in our family. In his youth he was an excellent athlete and had a great love of sports. He was a proud hockey dad to both of his sons.
Bob will be deeply missed and forever fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humour, as well as his quiet presence, strength, wisdom, and support. He wasn't a big man in stature, but in heart and tenacity he was a giant.
He was predeceased by his parents Dot and Bob Evans, as well as his sister Melissa Holman. He is survived by his wife, Dee-Ann Miner-Evans, his children and their families: Chris Evans, wife Natalie and their children Reid and Maeve; Sarah Janzen, husband Colin and their children Carson, Hannah and Parker; Lynncey Evans and her children Matthew, Daniel, and Mia; Megan Evans, partner Corey and their children Taz, Kruz, and Paisley; Levi Ann McDonnell and husband TW; Gabe Evans; his brother Dale Evans and wife Aileen; several nieces and nephews; large extended family; and many dear friends.
