It is with true sadness that we announce that Silvana Bedin passed away on Thursday, March 26, 2020 at the age of 86.
Silvana (nee Dalla Lana) was born in Nogare, Treviso, Italy. At the age of 22, she travelled to Trail to marry Luigi. While she shared a true passion for gardening with Luigi, her focus was in the kitchen. Silvana loved to cook and share food with everyone. It was always a special treat to enjoy some risotto, lasagna or even a simple bowl of "brodo" at Nonna's.
When she wasn't cooking, Silvana's other lifelong passion was sewing - outfits for herself, items for her home and more clothing for her children and then for her grandchildren. She was very involved in helping others and often this was through her sewing projects. For many years, she loved to work alongside her good friends at People Loving People and later she continued to make cute children's outfits for sale through the hospital's charity outlet. She was also an active member of the Sorelle Colombo for many years.
Silvana is survived by her sons Dennis (Evelyn) and Robert (Karen); daughters Dorine (James) Pomphrey and Luciana (Roy) Battilana; her sister Rosanna Pizziola and extended family in Canada and Italy. Nonna loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren immensely; Heather (Claude) Mocci - Tahlia, Mila; Shaunna (Chris) Kissock - Kyran, Lindon, Luella; Justin (Marcie) - Beau, Tanner; Andrea, Nicholas; Stephanie, Michelle; Benjamin, Amanda, Erin; Antonio, Rebecca.
She was predeceased by Luigi her loving husband of over 50 years; her parents Amalia and Guido Dalla Lana; her brother Fernando.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at a later date at Holy Trinity Catholic Parish with Father Francis dela Cruz officiating. Bill Clark of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
