Aug 9, 1926 - Feb 5, 2012.

It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden passing of Thomas Hodgson, husband, father and papa on Feb 5th, 2012 at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Dad will truly be missed by his loving wife of 61 years Ida and their two children Joan (Roel) and Bob (Marlene). He will also be greatly missed by his four grandchildren Carrie (Ryan), Lorne (Shinobu), Thomas (Ashley), Gillian (Tony) and his great grandchildren Haruka, Kai and William. Dad also leaves behind three brothers Rod, Stan, Raymond and sister Kathleen.

Dad was predeceased by his oldest daughter Nona Marie in 1966, brothers Ed and Albert and sisters Mary, Rosie and Lillian.

Born In Clouston, Saskatchewan Aug 9, 1926 he joined the Navy at age 15. Dad served in the Navy until the end of the war. On April 25, 1951 mom and dad were married and moved to Trail, BC where they raised their family. Dad spent 34 years working as an independent logger hauling logs for Glenmerry sawmills for most of that time. Mom and dad resided in Genelle, BC until his retirement and relocated to Parksville, BC in 1998.

Family, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the centre of Dad’s world.

Everyone should have a papa like dad. Dad, we will miss you dearly however we take comfort in knowing you are now with our dear sister Nona.

There will be no funeral service at dad’s request.
