Thoreen Littlewood

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Thoreen Littlewood on March 2, 2020 with her husband by her side. Thoreen was born in Kamsack, SK and grew up in Trail.
At the age of sixteen Thoreen and her twin sister Dorene joined the Canadian Women Army Corp. Thoreen started her career at BC Tel as a telephone operator then to supervisor. In 1959 she married Sid and work was put on hold to start a family. They had five children, Dan, Linda, Steven, David and Wendy. Thoreen went back to school and took Early Childhood Education and also her Special Needs Diploma. She began her career at the Children's Development Center for over 20 years until she retired. Thoreen loved working with kids at the Child Development Center, especially those with special needs. That was definitely her calling.
Family was everything to Thoreen and she treated her friends like family. Thoreen and Sid enjoyed cruises, travelling to visit family and friends, camping, playing cards but their special time was with her grandchildren.
Thoreen is survived by her loving husband of 61 years Sidney, daughters Linda and Wendy (Lee), grandchildren Jace and Zoe, her twin sister Dorene Schneider and sister Helen Basso, as well as sisters-in-law Patricia Birch and Heather Harbour. She was predeceased by her sons Dan, Steven and David.
Thoreen had a loving soul and will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure of meeting her.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Trail Royal Canadian Legion with Reverend Ken Siemens officiating. Al Grywacheski of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation ServicesTM has been entrusted with arrangements.
