William Radies

January 13, 2019

January 13, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bill, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather and uncle of so many. Bill died peacefully on January 13, 2019 after a brief illness. Over the course of his 90 years, Bill travelled the world with the Merchant Marines after WWII and then finally settled in Vancouver to become an ironworker, helping to build a number of that city's iconic buildings. Bill retired to Vernon where he devoted most of his time to bowling and volunteering extensively in his community, particularly at the local Legion. He brought that same spirit of community when he moved to Castlegar more than a decade ago, continuing to volunteer.

There will be a Remembrance of Bill in the Tea Room at Castlewood Village on Sunday, January 20 at 10 am. Gwen Ziprick of Alternatives Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements.

You are invited to leave a personal message of condolence by visiting the family's register at www.myalternatives.ca.
