Kudos to Warfield’s longtime mayor

It’s been a good run for Mayor Jim Nelson of Warfield, 14 years to be exact.

It’s been a good run for Mayor Jim Nelson of Warfield, 14 years to be exact.

My husband and I first met Mayor Nelson and his wife Jane, 4 years ago while attending our first Spaghetti dinner held at our Village Hall in Warfield.

My first impressions were, “Wow, I actually got to meet a Mayor.”

Being from Vancouver that opportunity never arose.

And, yet another wow, he is really charming, and his wife in a word, lovely.

A year later my husband John Crozier was appointed councillor for our village.

In John’s words, he has learned to respect the ability, good sense and wisdom Mayor Nelson has brought to the office of Mayor.

As a leader of the community Mayor Nelson has demonstrated courage and vision.

Whether at the conference table, in private meetings, or on the platform, his measured words have always produced keen respect for your wishes and warm, human understanding.

Jim and Jane Nelson are a couple that I wish I could have met 50 years ago.

John and I are so very blessed to be able to call them good and close friends. I would like to close this with a quote from Jim and

Janes grandaughter, Lindsay who recently sent her

Grandfather a card that said this, “Thank you for being the Mayor of Warfield!!!!!!!!”
