Super Saver Sam had a challenge holding back the goals from talented young hockey players. It was all good for a good cause - the Trail United Church Food Bank.
At Friday night’s Smoke Eaters game, Kootenay Savings teamed up with the Smokies to collect food for the Trail United Church Food Bank. Fans were encouraged to bring along a food or cash donation, and two young hockey players also had the chance to score and win – for themselves and the food bank. While the Smokies lost a heartbreaker to Penticton, the Food Bank and Mason Dixon scored a huge win! Over 600 pounds of food was collected, along with $140 in cash donations, and Mason helped win $60 more for the Food Bank, as well as $100 for himself, in Kootenay Savings’ 2nd intermission “Super Saver Sam Score & Win Challenge”!
