The Major Midget Kootenay Ice will play their final two games of the regular season at the Cominco Arena this weekend.

The Ice are coming off a pair of losses, 5-2 and 4-2, to the Valley West Hawks last weekend but look to end their season on a good note at home. Darren Medeiros of Castlegar led the Ice offensively with two goals and one assist in the games. The Ice’s Jake Lucchini sits in 10th spot in league scoring with 22 goals and 28 assists.

The four-points for the Hawks vaulted them into the sixth and final playoff position while the Ice remain mired in 11th place with a 4-30-4 record on the season.

The local midgets are out of the playoff picture but will play hard against the Thompson Blazers Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 9:45 a.m.
