Beaver Valley Nitehawks blank Summerland Steam

It was a good old fashioned goaltender's duel as the Beaver Valley Nitehawks pulled off a 2-0 victory over the Summerland Steam Saturday.

The Beaver Valley Nitehawks and Summerland Steam fired 35 shots at each other, but in the battle of the two Bretts, it was the Nitehawks Brett Clark who triumphed over the Steam's Brett Huber 2-0 at the Beaver Valley Arena on Saturday.

The game was tied 0-0 midway through the third period when the Steam's Braden Saretsky took a penalty for hitting from behind. The Nitehawks worked the puck around until Taylor Stafford took a pass from Danny Vlanich and fired it by a helpless Huber. Sam Barker would score into an empty net with 34 seconds remaining to give the Nitehawks their third win of the season.

The Nitehawks play the Castlegar Rebels in a home-and-home starting in Castlegar Friday at 7:30 p.m. and going at 7:30 p.m. in Beaver Valley Saturday.
